Audio Speed Changer Pro is a small utility to apply different playback rates, pitch keys, and tempos to your audio files. As a bonus, you can also use this tool to compress your audio files into MP3, Ogg, or M4A, or to convert any of these into any other of the formats supported. A third utility built into the program will allow you to edit some of the basic ID tags present in your audio files.
The interface itself is simple enough to make happy any kind of user – you will not be bothered by complicated settings, or by buttons whose functionality is somehow confusing, when not completely unnecessary.
The first of the two main functionalities, i.e. the speed changing function is in itself a beauty. To help you find the right settings without performing dozens of test-and-error conversions, you can make use of its built-in player. While listening to one of the tracks you selected, you can play with the three sliders that determine the tempo, the pitch, and the playback rate of the file. Once you are happy with what you hear, you can apply the changes to all the files you previously loaded into the interface or just to the one playing. Simple and easy.
As for the conversion functionality, it is limited but effective. Not being advertised as an “audio converter”, the fact that only MP3, Ogg, and M4A audio files are supported should not be considered as a downside of the tool. Take it just as a nice extra, and make the most of it.
It offers a solution to users who want to slow down or speed up MP3 files.
